Release & Restore Counselling Harrow, Middlesex

FAQ. Releasing

What is Counselling?

Counselling is a collaborative process which involves the development of a unique, confidential, therapeutic, helping relationship. In this relationship, the therapist acts as a facilitator in helping the client to understand more accurately his/herself and the world around him/her; to better understand their feelings and behaviours, and to assist in their interpersonal relationships. Discussion of whatever is important and impacting someone's life can enable an individual to grow towards greater freedom in making mature choices and taking responsible action.

What is Counselling like?

Counselling will be a different experience for different people, according to individual needs based on your unique set of circumstances.
What happens during the course of your counselling experience may differ over time, based on your situation, progress, or changes in your life. Therefore how the therapeutic process will progress depends on your needs and goals.

What is an initial appointment?

The first session is an initial assessment, which lasts for 50 minutes and during this time, you will be asked certain questions about you and your life, in order to form a holistic view. This information is important as it will help to make an initial assessment of your circumstance and the type of counselling best suited to your needs.
Following this, sessions are scheduled for 50 minutes weekly for consistent progress to be made.

Is what I say confidential?

Yes, all client-therapist conversations are private and confidential within the bounds of current regulations. I follow the professional and ethical guidelines of the BACP (British Association for Counsellors and Psychotherapy).
